Editing the history of 格物致知 with the Wikipedia community
Practicum
As part of a public history course, I took the username Graphfei to edit the entry 格物致知 (gewuzhizhi; gezhi) in Chinese language Wikipedia.
For this Confucianist concept that roughly translates to "investigation of things" and has been used as a loanword for Western Science, my main edits are: (1) creating a subsection on the history of interaction between gezhi and science, using literature on Jesuits and 文人 (literati); (2) organising the history section, then revising or tagging its unreliable sourcing, lack of citation and neutrality conflict.
These contributions are reflected on this Diff page and this Talk page, as well as machine translated and annotated in the final appendix for my English readers. For 72 hours and counting, there had not been response to my contributions.
