合成與反應
通常芳香腈是由氨氧化反應產生的。[2]3-氯苯甲腈可由3-氯苯甲醛和鹽酸羥胺在催化下於100 °C甲苯中反應製得[3],或由3-氯苄胺和碘在乙酸銨水溶液中加熱反應製得。[4]
在銅納米顆粒催化下,它被硼氫化鈉還原,可以得到3-氯苄胺。[5]一些釕催化劑也能催化它在水中水解,得到3-氯苯甲醯胺。[6]
