简介
硫代甲醛的结构式首次由意大利化学家西尔维奥·贝兹(Silvio Bezzi)确认。[1]一个人工制备的方法是在10 K温度的氩基质中对三硫代碳酸甲酯C
2H
2S
3进行光分解作用。[2]
此化合物在日常环境中并不稳定,极易形成其低聚物,即具有相同实验式的1,3,5-三硫杂环己烷,因此十分罕见。然而在星际物质中则能观察到其存在,[3]鼓励了对其性质的研究。[4]藉红外光谱仪可得知其存在于致密高速云CO-0.40-0.22等星际云,[5]以及海尔-博普彗星之彗发。[6][7]
由于双键原理,硫代甲醛倾向形成链状或环状结构。已知其存在于数种配位化合物中,包括以下的Os(SCH
