迪瑪絲的母親是一名前短跑選手，父親是一名板球選手[1][3]。她從小便熱愛游泳，她童年時的居所附近正好有一個泳池，為她練習游泳提供方便[1]。2015年，她的父母為了她能夠更好地實現她的夢想，一家人從家鄉遷至昆士蘭州布里斯班居住[4]，她也在當地的高中就讀[2][5]。
