宣揚爪蟲科
恐虾纲的一科动物
宣揚爪蟲科(學名:Kerygmachelidae)是節肢動物門、恐蝦綱底下的其中一個科。目前該科包括三個屬:來自格陵蘭島早寒武紀的宣揚爪蟲、[1]來自猶他州中寒武紀的猶他王蟲[2]和來自內華達州中下寒武紀蝠鱝蟲。[3]這些動物的特徵是發達的前附肢,與其他恐蝦類(如放射齒目)類似,只不過這些屬中存在的前附肢在同一水平面上,並且它們較細。宣揚爪蟲類很可能是游動捕食者,利用它們較大的游動葉(flap)在海洋中的上層游泳,並利用它們的前附肢捕捉小型獵物。 [4]

外觀
根據蝠鱝蟲在化石中保留的身體長度和宣揚爪蟲身體與其餘部分的比率,推算出蝠鱝蟲全長在30至50厘米,大於宣揚爪蟲的20厘米。[3]
頭部
僅有宣揚爪蟲的化石保存發現頭部,其餘有僅有發現身體的部位。頭部有一對細長前附肢,與放射齒目的前附肢不同的是,錢復之內的突起是向內,而非向下,且前附肢內側有、細長的刺。[1][5][6][7]
