20-20-20俱乐部
美国职棒大联盟(MLB)中,“20-20-20”俱乐部指的是单季同时达成至少20支二垒安打、至少20支三垒安打及至少20支全垒打的打者俱乐部[1][2][3]。1911年,弗兰克·舒尔特成为第一位达成此纪录的球员。而最近达成20-20-20这个里程碑的球员,是2007年球季的柯蒂士·格兰德森和吉米·罗林斯[4]。该年也是首次有两位球员在同一球季里完成20-20-20的成就[5]。
截至目前为止,20-20-20俱乐部成员仅有7名球员[6]。这七名球员中,有五人是左打、一人右打,还有一人是两打(左右开弓)。另外,乔治·布列特及威利·梅斯两名打者还同时是3000安打俱乐部的成员[7],其中梅斯也是500全垒打俱乐部的成员[8]。舒尔特、罗林斯和吉姆·巴顿里在达成此一纪录时也赢得该季的最有价值球员奖(MVP)[9][10][11] 。梅斯和罗林斯完成20-20-20成就的球季也达成至少30发全垒打及至少30次盗垒的纪录,同步加入30-30俱乐部[12][13][14]。布列特及罗林斯在完成20-20-20的球季也打出单季超过200支安打的纪录[9][15]。此外,这七名球员中有四人在他们达成20-20-20纪录的球季,还完成20次以上的盗垒成功,这些球员也被视为是“20–20–20–20俱乐部”的成员[16][17][18]。
在美国职棒联盟的历史上,每年都有很多球员同时打出至少20支二垒安打及20支全垒打。然而20-20-20俱乐部中所要求的三垒安打纪录,使其变得难以达成。这是因为三垒安打的落点通常与二垒安打相似,但是球员速度要够快才能跑出三垒安打[19]。不论是对高长打率的打者还是速度快的跑者来说,这都是项艰难的挑战:因为高长打率的打者可能跑垒速度较慢、较常打出平飞球(line drive)、或是把球打到墙外变成全垒打[20][21];而跑速快的跑者也许能跑比较多垒包,但也可能没办法把球打得够远[21]。
由于20-20-20俱乐部难以达成使其成员稀少,因此棒球文摘在1979年将其评为“美国职棒大联盟里最独特的俱乐部”(the most exclusive club in the Majors)[22],而20-20-20俱乐部在当时仅有四名成员。俱乐部现有成员中有五人具有棒球名人堂的资格,其中三人已名列其中(有两人在第一次票选中就被选上)[23]。球员必须要至少有十年以上大联盟资历,并至少要在退休后五年或是逝世六个月后才有票选资格[24]。剩下两名球员因为他们退休未满五年而尚未拥有入选名人堂的资格。
