1870年硬币法令
《1870年硬币法令》（英语：Coinage Act 1870；33 & 34 Vict c 10）是英国国会的一项法令。它述明了英国硬币的公制重量。例如，它将索维林的重量定义为7.98805克。[3]该法令已由《1971年硬币法令》废除。[4]《2007年成文法编正法令》附表1的第2条及第4部为爱尔兰共和国保留了该法令。

该法令还将铸币厂厂长（Master of the Mint）及苏格兰铸币厂董事长（Governor of the Mint of Scotland）的头衔授予财政大臣，苏格兰铸币局于1707年停止铸造硬币。[5]
该法令还赋予英国政府在海外大英属地建立造币厂分厂的权力。[6]1907年，应加拿大政府的要求，英国政府行使这一权力在渥太华建立了造币厂分厂。[7]1931年，当渥太华的皇家加拿大铸币厂完全由加拿大控制时，该授权被废除。[8]
当代历史表明，该法令受到乔治·弗雷德里克·安塞尔（George Frederick Ansell）的批评的影响。[9]
