这颗棕矮星提供了T型棕矮星之间周期性变化通量变化的第一个证据。这被解释为在该物体2.4小时的旋转周期内出现和消失的天气模式的标志。这条光曲线的形状随着时间尺度而演变,这被解释为大气中云模式演变的标志。[5]
2017年,宣布该物体的质量可能低至12.7个木星质量,可能被视为一颗流浪行星而不是棕矮星,因为它似乎是相对年轻的2亿恒星年龄船底座的成员-附近的恒星移动团。[4][6][7]
