叙利亚沙漠攻势

叙利亚沙漠攻势是叙利亚政府军与盟友部队于2017年5月开始的军事行动，意图把政府军控制区向东扩展至伊拉克边境，并为代尔祖尔解围作准备。[14]

巴格达－大马士革公路攻势

2017年5月7日，叙政府军向霍姆斯省萨拜比埃尔（Al-Sabe' Biyar）地区的自由叙利亚军发动攻击。[15][16]到次日，叙军已推进约45公里。[17]

5月14日至15日之间的晚上，包括伊拉克什叶派民兵在内的亲政府增援部队抵达萨拜比埃尔。[18][19][20]此时，叙军距离叙伊边境的坦夫（al-Tanf）口岸约24至100公里。[21][22]与此同时，美军和英军的特种部队抵达坦夫，[21]协助反对派进攻伊斯兰国控制区。[23]

5月18日，国防军与叙军第5和第7装甲师在苏韦达省东部的反对派控制区推进了35公里。[24]叙军继续向坦夫前进，遭到美国领导的联军空袭，事后美国官员表示在空袭前曾警告叙军停止向有联军驻扎的坦夫前进但不获理会。[25]美方称叙军在空袭中损失数辆车辆，包括一辆坦克[26]及两辆推土机。[27]

打通大马士革－巴尔米拉公路

5月23日，叙政府军对伊斯兰国开辟了一条100公里长的新战线。叙军迅速收复超过1,200平方公里的领土。[29][30]5月26日，政府军成功打通大马士革至巴尔米拉的公路。[31]

抵达伊拉克边境

2017年6月6日，美国空军攻击位于美英军队在坦夫的训练区约25英里外的亲政府部队。[32]6月8日，美国空军再度攻击在坦夫附近的叙政府军。[33]

6月9日，叙军在坦夫东北约70公里处建立据点，自2015年以来首次控制部分与伊拉克接壤边境。[34][35][36]

向苏赫奈推进

6月13日，共和国卫队第103旅抵达巴尔米拉增援。[37]

6月25日，叙军的Fuad Khaddour准将在霍姆斯省东部阵亡。6月26日，叙军进一步迫近阿布凯马勒。[38]7月6日，亲政府部队推进至距离苏赫奈不到15公里处。

在苏韦达省和大马士革农村省的推进

2017年7月10日，亲政府部队展开“伟大黎明行动”第二阶段。[39]政府军一天内从反对派手上收复3,000平方公里领土。[40]
