謝榮光
謝榮光(Hsieh Yung-kuan,1848年—1916年2月4日)字「春生」(謝春生作Cheah Choon-seng或Tjia Tioen-sen),號「夢池」(謝夢池作Cheah Meng-chi),出生於荷屬東印度坤甸(今屬印度尼西亞)。祖籍廣東省嘉應州(今廣東省梅州市),客家人,馬來西亞華人領袖、中華民國官員。他於1895年至1903年以及1906年至1907年任中國駐檳城州副領事,亦是印尼日里銀行(Deli Bank)的創始董事之一。[1]

生平
1848年,謝榮光出生於荷屬東印度坤甸。他曾充任荷屬東印度政府的糧食和食品供應商八年。在移居蘇門答臘島西海岸的班達亞齊之後,他仍任承包商,而且其承包範圍越來越大,包括承建鐵路、鴉片及農場等。他被任命為雷珍蘭(Lieutenant),21年後他升任甲必丹。荷屬東印度政府授予其「Trouw en Verdienste」金星,以及傑出貢獻金質獎章。
在1898年前後,他將其生意轉讓給其律師梁木安,自己移居檳城喬治市蓮花河路8號(No. 8, Leith Street)。1896年(光緒廿二年丙申),他被清政府任命為第三任駐檳城副領事,1897年鬻官同知銜,1898年獲封二品頂戴鹽運使銜,1901年8月離職,1907年再任,至同年冬辭職,其職位由其女婿梁輝(梁碧如)接任。
在此期間,他和女婿梁輝共同成立霹靂咖啡山錫礦公司,在霹靂州打捫以及吉隆坡附近的文冬開礦。他是檳州華人大會堂委員會委員。他同坤甸市長Chong Hi的女兒張氏結婚。[2][3][4]
他還和張弼士、梁輝、張鴻南以及鬍子春創立了中華學校(Chung Hua School,或稱中華學堂),這是馬來亞第一所以華語作為教學語言的現代華文學校。[5]
1916年2月4日,謝榮光在檳城喬治市逝世。[6]
