English: A great variety of bronze food and water vessels were found at the south east of the Liu-li-ko Tomb M60. The vessels for pouring and libation include a pair of p'an plate and ho ewer, large bronzes such as the chien basin with coiled ch'ih dragon pattern, together with a p'en basin, a chou cup, and lei jars (fou bathing jars). Among the vessels for preparing and serving food, there are a yen steamer, kuei bowls, fu grain holders, tui containers and li and ting cauldrons. Comparing to water vessels, the casting and patterns of food vessels are of a lesser and simpler quality, which reveals the importance of vessels for pouring and libation at that time. |
