背景，艺术设计以及专辑标题

虽然连恩·豪利特通常是作曲家，Maxim（英语：Maxim (musician)）参与了两首歌曲的创作，但这是基思·弗林特首次参与创作的专辑。《The Fat of the Land》专辑封面上是一只月亮蟹[9]和一个新标志，删除了“The”并添加了一只蚂蚁的轮廓。专辑名称来自古老的英语短语“living off the fat of the land”，意思是生活富足或富有。[10]
