坎農級護航驅逐艦(Cannon class destroyer escort)是美國在二次世界大戰期間建造的一個護航驅逐艦艦級,專門用於船團護航以及反制敵軍潛艇用。相較之前的巴克利級(Buckley-class),此級艦進行了局部的設計變更,改使用柴電引擎作為動力來源,具有6,000馬力,和艾瓦茲級(Evarts class)相同,但艦身較長因此航速略高。本級船艦因為搭載的柴電動力系統採縱向配置,而又被稱呼為DET型驅逐艦(DET Type,其中DET是「縱置柴電」Diesel Electric Tandem的縮寫)[1]。

本級艦因就役時已接近二戰尾聲,因此在二戰期間完全沒有遭擊沈的紀錄,多艘同級艦在戰後轉交給美國的盟邦海軍使用。除了在二戰期間就已使用了此級船艦的自由法國海軍與巴西海軍外,在戰後陸續接收到此級船艦的國家還包括烏拉圭、希臘、義大利、日本、荷蘭、秘魯、菲律賓、韓國、中華民國與泰國等。
在進入21世紀後同級艦因船齡老舊陸續除役解體,其中美國唯一保有的同級艦史萊特號(USS Slater DE-766)被安置在紐約州奧巴尼(Albany, NY)的哈德遜河上作為水上博物館使用。至於同級艦中服役記錄最久的,則是菲律賓海軍所操作的胡瑪邦酋長號巡防艦(BRP Rajah Humabon PF-11),該艦原為美國海軍阿瑟頓號(USS Atherton DE-169),1955年至1975年間曾以初日號(はつひ,JDS Hatsuhi DE-263)之名在日本海上自衛隊服役,是該單位成立初期最早使用的幾艘船艦之一。1976年時美國將日本所歸還的該艦售予菲律賓,並在韓國經過大幅度的整修後加入菲律賓海軍。直到2018年該艦退役,主要作為海面巡邏用途。
