English: The belief in ancestral spirits and the respect for nature compel the indigenous people to be humble and modest in their use of mountain and forest resources. When hunting, burning, logging, and farming, some of them will hold simple rituals with wine and other items to tell the spirits their purpose for coming to this place and to pray for smooth work. The indigenous people also give thanks to nature for providing and feeding themselves and their families, allowing them to fulfill their lives' every need. |
